Thousands Now Get The Ultimate Alaska Vacation Who Never Thought They Could

Seattle - September 8, 2004 -- Past Alaska vacations required an immense amount of planning, organization, and ultimately, "work", yielding very little time for some true relaxation and quality time with loved ones. An Alaska Cruise allows passengers to truly relax and spend the necessary quality time with loved ones. The cruise gives options, engage in an intense schedule or no intensity at all, just relax.

Professional/travel tour operators elected to cruise to Alaska with Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) for various reasons: they’re very competitive in price, offer "Free-Style Cruising", have fabulous children programs, superb entertainment, an international crew and were the first cruise line to sail out of Seattle.

A total of six, 2-adults and 4-children, set off to explore the qualities of NCL on an Alaska vacation. The vessel, the "Norwegian Spirit" was docked at the Port of Seattle, the Pier 66 Terminal. The scheduled departure was a Saturday afternoon allowing relaxing time to get last minute things together. Passengers could arrive at the ship between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

The NCL "Spirit" carries 1,996 passengers with a crew of 920. That’s nearly 1-crew member for every 2-passengers! The crew is there to serve and make sure the passangers have the absolute best Alaska vacation. Greatly appreciated are all of the nationalities represented on the "Spirit". It’s truly a vessel of international flair.

The stern section of the ship is the Kids Club. It’s amazing, an entire mini-amusement park with tunnels, tubes and balls, a pool with slides, fountains and a mock pirate ship yielding water-spouting cannons that make up the upper portion of the stern section. This is a kid’s heaven. And the arcade is only steps away.

The restaurants on board were numerous from fine dining to buffet style and fast food offered 24-hours a day. Hunger rarely occurs on this ship! If dieting to lose weight, it's recommended to put the diet on hold for the duration of the cruise and experience all the fabulous food entrees.

There many options available while cruising to and around Alaska; simply watch whales spout, observe the beautiful scenery, watch a movie in the theater, dine, play cards, test out some luck in the casino, listen to live entertainment at one of the many bars, lounge on the deck by one of the pools, pump iron at the gym, shoot hoops on the basketball court…the list seems endless. This is the ultimate Alaska vacation; passengers can do it all, part or nothing.

The family of six always had something to do, there was never a dull boring moment. Each one had the option to choose what to do. For example, read a book in the library while others watched a movie in the theater, hang out with some new found friends or play on the water slides.

The Alaska vacation is unlike any other. There is literally no sacrificing the wants and likes of other family members. And above all, there's no driving involved to get to any of the recreational activities!

One of the favorite functions onboard are the evenings live high quality professional entertainment in the grand Moulin Rouge showroom. It’s unique in that the Moulin Rouge utilizes two decks, with theater style sitting. A great view is experienced from every seat, including the seats in the balcony!

And of course, the ports of call: Ketchikan via the Inside Passage from Seattle, Juneau, Skagway and Prince Rupert with a sneak into the Sawyer Glacier. The ports are all awesome. Passengers have the choice of departing the ship and venture out into the Alaskan territory or stay in the second home, onboard the "Spirit". It’s a passengers choice to expand the Alaska vacation to meet any adventurous needs and desires.

On shore, passengers can experience nearly any level of excitement desired. Helicopter flights, fishing opportunities, river rafting, guided tours, shopping expeditions or simply stroll around on a self-guided walking tour are at the passengers disposal.

The ports of call, on the Alaska vacation, are relatively small. This enables passengers to walk around the towns to capture the Alaskan lifestyle. Granted, the stay in each port is limited; however, it does yield enough time to get a taste, an experience of Alaska. The ports were showcased enabling passengers to see the highlights and if so desired return at a later date.

The Alaska cruises book quickly. Vacationers will get the most of an Alaska vacation by booking as soon as possible. Step out into the exciting, adventurous, and romantic wonderlands our planet has to offer...an Alaska Cruise and create a true relaxing vacation with lasting memories.
